It is extremely difficult to differentiate engineered flooring from a hardwood parquet floor since these two floors have the same appearance. The surface of engineered parquet is made of very good quality 3.3mm parquet. The top layer of engineered flooring must be at least 2mm and not more than 6mm thick. It is also called wear layer and can be sanded if the renovation of the floor is needed. The engineered flooring generally cannot be sanded more than 5 times. The softwood core of the floor is a layer of wood that is more flexible than the facing. It is this layer which ensures overall stability to the floor. The supporting layer is the lower part of an engineered floorboard, which prevents the parquet from wiggling.
