The expressive floor covering

Linoleum from Forbo has been in demand for many years, especially for the design of public areas. In these, linoleum flooring impresses with its robust and hard-wearing properties, which are particularly in demand here. The linoleum flooring of the Forbo Marmoleum Vivace collection is available in two different overall thicknesses, which makes it possible to find a suitable version for every application. The Forbo Marmoleum Vivace 2.5 mm variant is characterised by use classes 23 to 42/43, which makes the linoleum a strong partner in both high-traffic residential and commercial spaces as well as high-traffic industrial spaces. With these classifications, linoleum flooring is particularly attractive for public spaces such as schools, nurseries or hospitals, or for stores, galleries and the like. However, it can also be used in the home for residential, where the linoleum flooring is a hard-wearing partner that can be relied on for years. This makes the linoleum from the Forbo Marmoleum Vivace collection a reliable and, due to its design, equally expressive renovation partner.

Durable flooring for permanent installation

Linoleum is a floor covering that consists largely of natural materials. The interaction of linseed oil, natural resins, wood flour, jute and other components thus creates a durable renovation floor that retains its strengths for years. For this reason, linoleum flooring can be used for many years without any problems. However, in order to ensure undamaged, long-lasting use, the linoleum must be fully bonded to the subfloor. This is because the full potential of the linoleum floor can only be exploited and damage caused by slipping of the sheets or similar can only be prevented by the permanent bond with the adhesive. In this regard, the installation is always carried out on the basis of the same steps.

Forbo Marmoleum Vivace installation step by step

Once laid, linoleum flooring can withstand high loads for years, making even the costly renovation practice of glueing it down worthwhile. Although laying flooring for glueing means a certain extra effort, with a little know-how, this operation can be done by anyone. However, the skills of professional floor installers should also be considered here. Lay out the linoleum floor for glueing, it requires some basic steps. The first step is to prepare the surface of the area to be renovated by removing old flooring, dirt, grease and unevenness. Unevenness, such as cracks or holes, only hinders the installation of the linoleum flooring. Therefore, these should be levelled with the help of a commercial filler. Then the linoleum sheets must be adapted to the existing room dimensions. To do this, cut-outs must be made for bay windows, heating pipes and the like, so that nothing stands in the way of the final fixation. After that, the linoleum only needs to be firmly bonded to the subfloor. For this step, the substrate must first be provided with an even adhesive layer. The linoleum can then be laid in this layer. The individual strips or cuttings must be laid end to end in the adhesive layer so that there are no gaps or crevices and overlapping of the strips must also be avoided. Once the room is completely lined with the linoleum, the adhesive layer only needs to harden or dry so that the linoleum floor is firmly bonded to the substrate.

Linoleum Forbo Marmoleum Vivace - technical quality features that impress

In addition to the obvious visual strengths, Forbo's Marmoleum Vivace linoleum flooring also impresses with numerous technical features, the so-called technical quality features. Here, the Forbo linoleum is characterized, among other things, by the fire behaviour Cfl-s1, the slip resistance of class R9, the DS slip resistance and many other product properties. In addition, linoleum flooring has properties such as natural bacteriostatic as well as easy-care properties, which make the linoleum a reliable partner. Thus, the linoleum flooring can be laid out without any problems in areas where hygiene is important, and in these areas, it can be cleaned quickly and easily. In offices, the linoleum's integrated suitability for chair castors (type W) in particular makes it a reliable partner. This makes linoleum a reliable renovation floor that is as pretty to look at as it is strong and hard-wearing.
